Scientists have discovered several ways that linseed helps us lose weight. Linseed oil contains omega-3 which rebalances the fats in the body which in turn increases leptin levels and boosts the metabolism.  This also helps reduce interest in food even when eating less.

The recent BBC Radio 4's excellent Food Programme looked at issues surrounding our intake of omega 3 fatty acids. In a nutshell they advised us to eat more omega-3. For a healthy balance for every three parts of omega-6 we get in our diet we should include at least one part of omega-3 but in Britain on average that ratio is 10:1 .

Our now famous Flaxjacks® like so many successful things came about quite by accident.  I wanted a way to show how to use our ground linseed in food  so I made some bars with it, included some oats and once people tasted them they wanted to buy the bars, and Flaxjacks® were born.

We are extremely proud of our omega-3 rich cold-pressed Linseed oil (which is also known as Flaxseed Oil!!)  The flavour is so light and lovely that it was one of the foods we had approved  by the renowned Borough Market tasting committee when we applied to have a stall there .
