Most of the effects of linseed effectively helping weight loss comes from the long-term effect of linseed increasing levels of  omega-3 though in the short term high levels of protein, oil and fibre help control appetite after a meal.

My Own Experience of After consuming linseed oil and linseed meal for while I noticed increased I felt significantly  warmer after eating -the scientific term is dietary induced thermogenesis (DIT) . Then I realised I didn't binge anymore. I used to have it bad!. I still love food but now just eat sensibly - and my body t5ells me when I've had enough and I don't want more.  Now I can leave chocolate and cakes  in the cupboard for weeks.

I still have to be careful about what I eat but I no longer  crave food items even when hungry, the result is I plan proper meals and eat better and less.

The next linseed weight loss revelation was appetite control. This came when I was experimenting with linseed recipes for farmers' markets, I gave bags of linseed porridge to friends to try.  They all reported that they found they were filled up more than with normal porridge and snacked less between meals.. Even the chocolate linseed brownies which are delicious just can't be put away in the quantities normal cakes can - and they ward off hunger for longer.
