Organic blackstrap molasses
black treacle is ok too

Flax Farm ground linseed

Boiling water
Instructions
Heat molasses until just starting to bubble but don't overheat.
Add boiling water, stir, then add the ground linseed. Mix thoroughly.
Place mixture in a 14 x 9 inch baking tray lined with baking parchment/silicon paper and level out until smooth.
Bake for 15 minutes at 160C, take care not to overcook.
Remove from oven, allow to cool and cut into 14 slices.
Notes
Honey or malt extract can be substituted for the molasses.
