"Cheesy" Drop Scones

These quick drop scones are a great alternative bread when you need a roll with a bowl of soup or salad.  Straight out the pan, maybe a wipe of butter or spread, they are crispy and cheesy on their own and make a tasty healthy snack. Good for lunch boxes too.

Ingredients
  

  • 30 g Flax Farm Gold Ground Linseed
  • 30 g Buckwheat flakes or flour
  • 15 g Engervita Nutritional Yeast flakes Parmesan or other cheese works just as well
  • 100 ml Water approx
  • 5 ml Soy sauce
  • 1-2 Tsp chopped freshy herbs optional
  • 1 tsp baking powder optional
  • 1 pinch Salt optional
  • 30 g Chickpea flour

Method
 

  1. Combine all the ingredients very thoughtfully until smooth, slowly adding enough water to make a stiff batter
  2. Place tablespoonfuls onto a fairly hot greased frying pan. Cook until well set and slightly brown. Then turn over

  3. Cook on second side until brown and cooked through. Remove from pan and serve. Great with butter or on their own.
