Winter Warming: Flaxseed Energy Balls

Pinni laddoo, Linseed energy balls

Super-healthy energy balls that can help you burn calories.

Ancient Ayurvedic medicine prescribes ground flaxseed to boost the metabolism and to warm you from the inside out. In parts of India where the winters are cold and they have no central heating people have a tradition of eating flaxseed to warm them up.

The scientific wisdom behind this is omega 3 helps to improve the signalling within the body and encourages spare calories to be burned, both keeps you warmer and helps keep the calories off your hips.  Feel great and look great!

Sugar Free, whole superfoods recipe

In this recipe the flaxseed is enhanced with fragrant warming spices. Every family has their own version and you can adjust the ingredients to suit your own taste. This is a traditional Indian recipe for energy balls called pinni laddoo. For me it’s important to have no added sugar, gluten-free, no wheat flour – and dairy-free.
